Sativa

Depending on who you talk to there are essentially three varieties of marijuana Cannabis Sativa, Indica and Ruderalis.

Well before I knew the difference between Indica and Sativa I regularly vacationed in Negril Jamica. I grew fond of the blue mountain coffee and those long lambs bread buds. This combination led to many adventures on the Island. I became good friends with a Rasta named Edgerton. He told me the Jamaicans discovered sensimilia when a band of parrots once ate all the immature seed in pot field. The buds continued to grow without seeds and the rest is history.

Sativa strains are native to Africa, Central America, Southeast Asia, and portions of Western Asia.. They grow well in equatorial climates with long growing seasons. Due to the long growing seasons these plants can take 90 to 120 days to flower. The plants often attain 10 or more feet tall before maturing. These strains are difficult to grow indoors.

Sativas are none to provide an elevated body high adding creativity and focus.. Time to take a hike or go fishing weed.

Terpene Profile – These are the naturally occurring compounds in marijuana that define smell, taste and affect.

  • Pinene – As you would guess this is what makes Sativas smell piney. It is believed that this Terpene may reduce pain, boost memory and combat some of the nausea some marijuana users have.
  • Limonene – Citrus notes found in pineapple and similar strains come from Limonene.  None to reduce stress and improve modd.
